The PSHS–CVC Chorale singing the National Anthem during the Bigkis Festival 2020 at the campus Multipurpose Hall.

PSHS–CVC marked its biggest crossover event as FUSION and HUMANITIES collaborated to form the first Pisay Alternative Learning Activities Festival with the theme BIGKIS: Bigyang Importansya ang Ganda ng Kultura't Kalikasan, Instrumento sa Siyensiya't Sining last January 20–24, 2019 at the school's gymnasium.

The Pisay ALA Festival combined sports, curricular and cultural activities into a week of festivities that celebrated the Filipino culture.

PSHS System Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Rod Allan A. de Lara graced the occasion and in his speech, he cited the importance of ALA.

"Communication Creativity, positive thinking can't be learned from other subjects, maybe some, but it can only be learned through other activities such as ALA that is why there is ALA," De Lara stated during the opening remarks.

He also said that there are no other people that will love Filipinos except the Filipinos themselves so scholars should give back what has been given to them to help not only themselves but also their fellow Filipinos.

Mr. and Ms. Pisay candidates also strutted in their team shirts along with notable student–athletes from Ugnayan 2019 last October in Koronadal City as part of the torch lighting.

The three teams, DATU, SULTAN and LAKAN, also showcased Philippine culture in their trade fair booths from the costumes to the food for sale.

Science for the People, an event featuring the various researches of some Grades 11–12 research groups was showcased in the Multi–Purpose Gymnasium on the second day, January 21.

The said event consisted of short talks from research coordinator, Arnold Pitpitunge, Grade 12 students, Randa Ancheta and William Kevin Abran, and faculty members, Jenshiam Balgua, Gaudencio Natividad, and Genalyn Viloria about Science for the People.

"Science is a tool for development," Pitpitunge stressed in his opening speech.

"The PSHS System prepares its students for careers in science and technology for the country to attain a critical mass of professionals and leaders in Science and Technology," he added.

Elementary pupils from districts across Nueva Vizcaya and interested parents were also invited as part of the audience.

The activity unified sciences with the arts through highlighting PSHS–CVC's very own student researches.

Aiming to donate bags of blood to aid the Nueva Vizcaya community, three scholars from Philippine Science High School-Cagayan Valley Campus initiated a bloodletting activity conducted in the PSHS-CVC clinic last November 8,2019.

The team invited Red Cross Nueva Vizcaya, headed by Ms. Chari Wachayna at PSHS-CVC to help them in conducting the activity.

Twenty-four students and faculty members volunteered in the event but there were eight volunteers who did not pass the initial screening for the activity.

“I wanted to help the community by donating blood for the patients. I know that this will have a huge impact in the long run” Vincent Albino, a PSHS-CVC student said.

The team was surprised to surpass their goal to have 15 blood bags when they collected 16 bags after the activity.

“We are beyond gratefukl for what transpired in the activity. We hope that more scholars will donate blood in succeeding activites,” Yvonne Supnet, one of the three scholars who led the event, said in an interview.

SCALE students who masterminded the activity were Ronald Cruz, Yvonne Supnet, and Summer Simplina.

This activity strengthens PSHS-CVC and Red Cross ties for it becomes a sustained bloodletting activity backed up by Red Cross Nueva Vizcaya that will take place in the PSHS-CVC clinic every card giving.#
