Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus formally opened school year 2018–2019 last August 6, 2018 at its newly built Multi–purpose gymnasium.

The opening of a new school year is headlined by an opening program with Dr. Salvador B. Romo, Campus Director, led the employees in welcoming of old and new students with their parents, respectively.

Faculty and staff were presented also by the respective division chiefs.

An orientation about the new Scholarship Agreement, Code of Conduct, academic Matters and other related concerns for Grade 7 students and parents were facilitated by school personnel in the morning after the opening program.

Upperclassmen also underwent a reorientation of academic matters and Code of Conduct in the afternoon.

Mrs. Alice C. Manuel, Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division and Mr. Harold V. Gallo, Chief of the Student Services Division, together with the faculty and staff, facilitated the conduct of the activities in the first day of the school year.#

As the new school year kicked off, employees of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus undergone series of activities through its new version of INSET seminar – B.R.A.C.E 2018 last July 30 – August 2, 2018 at Masoc, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

B.R.A.C.E stands for Brace, Recalibrate, Anticipate, Commit and Envision, which is highlighted by faculty and staff meetings, academic discussions, seminar on pedagogy, first aid training and other related matters concerning the opening of a new school year.

Dr. Salvador B. Romo, campus director, informed the faculty and staff about new policies and updates, while Mrs. Alice C. Manuel, Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division, facilitated academic matters and Mr. Harold V. Gallo, Chief of the Student Services Division, presented the proposed Calendar of Activities.

Dr. Arturo B. Nano, a former Education Supervisor of DepEd Isabela, discussed Globalization and Contextualization of Learning last August 1, 2018 to recalibrate the teachers’ knowledge and competencies on learning pedagogy.

Meanwhile, personnel of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Nueva Vizcaya facilitated the conduct of First Aid Training to employees of the school.#

Santiago North Central School (SNCS) SPED Center on October 8 claimed its second Pisay Quiz Show in three years after clinching the title in the Pisay-CVC’s sixth Regional Quiz Show held in SM City Cauayan, Cauayan, Isabela.

The four-point difference between University of St. Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) and SNCS made it clear who was deserving of the crown this 2017, putting Tuguegarao West Central School (TWCS) in the third place.

The winning team consisted of Kyrush Cassandra C. Gutierrez, Mark Daniel Javier, and Art Dominic Gubiauon, and was coached by Ms. Cherry C. Bawiga, who further expressed gratitude upon winning the contested activity.

"I am so grateful that the hardships and sacrifices of my pupils in reviewing and preparing for the quiz bee were compensated because of their winning”, Bawiga stated during an interview with the Pisay Explorer.

Furthermore, she also showed extreme gratitude to the Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus (PSHS – CVC) System for its effort to give pupils the ability to hone mathematical, scientific, and linguistic skills.

"I would also like to commend Pisay-CVC for being the avenue for preparing and sharpening the capabilities of our children to become more academically ready in their more formal way of education”, she said.

Pupils who ranked second in the quiz show were Joseph Anthony Cabinta, Yuan Alkinz Caῆazares and James Benedict Tan, while those of the third place were Cyra D. Martinez, Froilan C. Cancejo and Khim Marique F. Daquioag.

Layuning linangin ang mga iskolar upang maging mga epektibong lider, ginanap ang ikalawang Project I.N.S.P.I.R.E. sa PSHS-CVC noong Nobyembre 18–19, 2017.

"Project INSPIRE is the flagship program, of the SSG which hopes to inspire the scholars to take leadership roles which will make them more responsible, committed and service–oriented leaders in school and in the community," ani G. Heherson Tolentino, tagapayo ng Supreme Student Government.

Pinangunahan ng SSG at ilang estudyante ng SCALE, binigyang–tuon ng nasabing programa ang Sustainable Development Goals ng United Nations sa tulong ni G. Brex Arevalo.

Ayon pa kay G. Tolentino, ang pagbibigyang–pansin umano sa SDGs sa nasabing seminar ay upang mabigyang–kamalayan ang mga dumalo na mayroong ganoong adbokasiya at mayroong malaking papel na ginagampanan ang kabataan sa pag–abot nito.

"The SDG entails a global commitment to ensure a sustainability of resources, and the Earth as a whole,” dagdag pa niya. Idiniin din ni G. Tolentino na ang mga ganitong programa ay kinakailangan upang siguraduhin ang holistic development ng mga iskolar.
