Top brass, other PSHS officials plan, prepare budget for 2016, 2017

Even a calamity can't stop the Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS) in its quest for continues transformation.
The Office of the Executive Director (OED) through its top honcho Dr. Larry L. Cabatic led all the campuses in the Physical and Financial Planning Workshop for 2016 and Budget Preparation for 2017 at Baguio City, October 19–23, 2015.
Participants have to go through the brunt and ravages of typhoon Lando to partake in the planning and workshops.
In fact, the delegates of PSHS–Cagayan Valley Campus headed by Dr. Salvador B. Romo came in late because of impassable roads in Sta. Fe and Benguet–Nueva Vizcaya route due to torrential rains that caused landslides.
Enthemed "Continuing Transformation", the activity was participated by campus director chiefs of the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), Curriculum and Instruction Services Division (CISD) and Student Services Division (SSD), budget officers and accountants of the Philippine Science High School System, respectively.
Deputy Executive Director Dr. Rod Allan De Lara, presented the accomplishments, status of fund utilization, infrastructure road map in relation to K to 12.
He also presented the draft of rationalization plan for the employees of PSHS System in the coming years.
Furthermore, a workshop by cluster was also conducted to discuss accomplishments, concerns, fund utilization and update.

Davao lawyers discuss leadership, children's rights, anti-bullying law

In less than five hours, the employees of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus engaged in productive educational sessions about various topics in the second day of the Gender and Development activities held at Davao City on October 8.
Topnotch lawyers from Davao city rendered brief but intensive discussions on Gendered Leadership, Children's Rights and Anti–Bullying Law.
Atty. Arnold C. Aberon talked how gender affects leadership.
His discussion on children's rights by Atty. Marisue A. Llanes followed where she cited various cases about women and children's plight.
She highlighted the need to protect women and children because they are at risks to abuse and degradation.
The educational session capped with the discussion of the Anti–Bullying Law by Atty. Cheryll Ann C. Paronda.
Atty. Paronda, who is currently a judge in Davao, enlightened the employees about the importance of understanding bullying and the law on how to prevent its occurrence in the school.
The Judge is also the younger sibling of CISD Chief, Dr. Aimee Marie C. Gragasin.

HEADSTART headlines intensive prep for employees

In preparation for the new school year, the Curriculum and Instruction Services Division (CISD) headed by Dr. Aimee Marie C. Gragasin lined up activities to prepare the academic staff for another daunting year in a two–week program called HEADSTART.
Education sessions, leadership seminars, meeting and GAD mainstreaming are among the activities undertaken before the opening of classes in July 20.
Hon. Ronelie U. Valtoribio, municipal mayor of Villaverde shared her town's best practices in a leadership seminar called "Leadership 101: Innovate and Inspire" last July 6.
"Start with doable's, and believe that you can create change." said the mayor.
Last July 9, Dr. Edwin Mania, a psychology expert, talked about dealing with special children, in which he highlighted that scholars need to be labeled as gifted simply as normal teenagers.
The Headstart punctuated with a joint Gender and Development (GAD) activity in Baguio City from July 13–16 with Ilocos Region Campus (IRC), Cordillera Administrative Region Campus (CAR) and the Office of the Executive Director (OED) joining the fray.
The GAD featured seminars about gender equality and a sportsfest where PSHS–Cagayan Valley Campus dominated.

Udivitel'nym i Pobedili: Idio tops class, leads Udi in 16th graduation rites

As the sole graduate who obtained With Highest Honors in his class, Ralph Justine idio graduated top scholar and led batch 2015: Udivitel'nym Pobedili during the PSHS–CVC 16th Commencement Exercises, April 8, 2015.
Seventeen (17) scholars were also awarded With High Honors plum.
The list included Frinzer Lucky M. Simplina, Ciara Beatrice B. Cañalita, Hana Renzsie R. Grospe, Ma. Oliva Nicole L. Daquioag, Mariah Toni Nyva S. Labasan, Jaurine Fei L. Agrimor, Janford B. Galano, Patrice S. Bumanlag, Nathan Oscar T. Rosimo, Evan Alexis A. Clarion, Patricia Nicole S. Narvadez, Niquitta B. Galap, Shanna Lei C. Ramil, Aeron Rai B. Roque, Francisgerard A. Aguilar, Jasmin Kisha Angela B. Lugo and Sally Joy D. Gano.
Idio was also awarded proficiency in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Simplina got proficiency in English and Filipino; Cañalita got Computer Science, Alyssa Joselle Alba in Research, Shanna Lei Ramil in Arts, Narvadez in Social Science, Ma. Mikaela Angelika Sto. Tomas in English Journalism, Alliah Macato in Flipino Journalism, and Patrice Bumanlag and Ymmanuel Gaffud in Physical Education.
The DOST Secretary Award was conferred to Mariah Toni Nyva Labasan while the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award was achieved by Janford Galano.
"Your willingness and humility to be molded and changed to become a better person will mold your character and attitude. as one author says, your attitude determines your altitude, "Dr. Ryan Cabatic", the Executive Director of PSHSS, concluded in his inspirational message.
According to batch 2015, Udivitel'nym i Pobedili "Udi" means awesome and victorious.
