Mission TARIPATU: Sustainable outreach program launched

Fulfilling its mandate of reaching out to the community, Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus in partnership with parents and alumni launched its Mission Taripatu: the adoption of Sitio Pawak of Barangay Masoc as its extension community through a medical mission last July 12, 2019.
Mission Taripatu envisions bringing year round and sustainable activities to the community of Pawak though the concerted efforts of PSHS-CVC personnel and its stakeholders.
The program seeks to extend help and support to the citizens of the community particularly in literacy, health and wellness and disaster preparedness. A dental/medical mission was conducted which were participated by parents and alumni. Among the practitioners who came were Dr. Gina T. Rosimo, GPTCA President; Dr. Melanie C. Bautista, DPA Vice President; Dr. and Dr. Esther Remigio, alumni parent; Dr. Katrina Remigio and Jinette Lilian Carreon, alumni doctors, respectively.Last August 9, 2019, PSHS-CVC donated tiles, roofing materials, bowls and bathroom door panels to Pawak Elementary School in order to build a makeshift classroom for the pupils.#

PSHS – CVC nails ISO certification

In its quest for continual improvement and excellence, Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus was formally recommended for ISO 9001:2015 certification after it passed two grueling stages of evaluation from external auditors.
With no minor and major conformities, Mr. Eugune Herradura, external auditor, declared that the school will be recommended for certification.
The accreditation covered the company’s scope in conformance with development and delivery of special science education program, support services functions which include; curriculum development and review, delivery of instruction; student support services, student affairs services and financial and administrative services.
Stage 1 was done last November 17, 2018 where the accrediting body AJA Registrars evaluated the readiness of the school for the next level.
“ISO is about assessing people, paper and processes,” said Mr. Erwin Quinto, team leader during the Stage 1 evaluation.
Technical expert Mr. Herradura emphasized during the Stage 2 that the evaluation is done not to look for errors or mistakes but to assess the conformance to statutory and regulatory requirements of the school.
Dr. Salvador B. Romo, campus director, lauded the concerted efforts of all the divisions in working toward the achievement of the certification.#

BRACE 2018 headstarts new school year

As the new school year kicked off, employees of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus undergone series of activities through its new version of INSET seminar – B.R.A.C.E 2018 last July 30 – August 2, 2018 at Masoc, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
B.R.A.C.E stands for Brace, Recalibrate, Anticipate, Commit and Envision, which is highlighted by faculty and staff meetings, academic discussions, seminar on pedagogy, first aid training and other related matters concerning the opening of a new school year.
Dr. Salvador B. Romo, campus director, informed the faculty and staff about new policies and updates, while Mrs. Alice C. Manuel, Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division, facilitated academic matters and Mr. Harold V. Gallo, Chief of the Student Services Division, presented the proposed Calendar of Activities.
Dr. Arturo B. Nano, a former Education Supervisor of DepEd Isabela, discussed Globalization and Contextualization of Learning last August 1, 2018 to recalibrate the teachers’ knowledge and competencies on learning pedagogy.
Meanwhile, personnel of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Nueva Vizcaya facilitated the conduct of First Aid Training to employees of the school.#

PSHS-CVC welcomes new school year, freshies, upperclassmen

Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus formally opened school year 2018–2019 last August 6, 2018 at its newly built Multi–purpose gymnasium.
The opening of a new school year is headlined by an opening program with Dr. Salvador B. Romo, Campus Director, led the employees in welcoming of old and new students with their parents, respectively.
Faculty and staff were presented also by the respective division chiefs.
An orientation about the new Scholarship Agreement, Code of Conduct, academic Matters and other related concerns for Grade 7 students and parents were facilitated by school personnel in the morning after the opening program.
Upperclassmen also underwent a reorientation of academic matters and Code of Conduct in the afternoon.
Mrs. Alice C. Manuel, Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division and Mr. Harold V. Gallo, Chief of the Student Services Division, together with the faculty and staff, facilitated the conduct of the activities in the first day of the school year.#

Project INSPIRE v2.0, idinaos

Layuning linangin ang mga iskolar upang maging mga epektibong lider, ginanap ang ikalawang Project I.N.S.P.I.R.E. sa PSHS-CVC noong Nobyembre 18–19, 2017.
"Project INSPIRE is the flagship program, of the SSG which hopes to inspire the scholars to take leadership roles which will make them more responsible, committed and service–oriented leaders in school and in the community," ani G. Heherson Tolentino, tagapayo ng Supreme Student Government.
Pinangunahan ng SSG at ilang estudyante ng SCALE, binigyang–tuon ng nasabing programa ang Sustainable Development Goals ng United Nations sa tulong ni G. Brex Arevalo.
Ayon pa kay G. Tolentino, ang pagbibigyang–pansin umano sa SDGs sa nasabing seminar ay upang mabigyang–kamalayan ang mga dumalo na mayroong ganoong adbokasiya at mayroong malaking papel na ginagampanan ang kabataan sa pag–abot nito.
"The SDG entails a global commitment to ensure a sustainability of resources, and the Earth as a whole,” dagdag pa niya. Idiniin din ni G. Tolentino na ang mga ganitong programa ay kinakailangan upang siguraduhin ang holistic development ng mga iskolar.
