With Typhoon Carina exiting Philippine territory, new school year entered in the history books of Philippine Science High School as it opened its first school day, August 1.

The opening day kicked off with a flag ceremony headed by Dr. Salvador B. Romo, Campus Director.

A Holy Spirit Mass followed, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Crispin Costales.

In his welcome remarks during the Opening Program, Dr. Romo welcomed the students, employees and parents with school updates and reminders.

“This year is special because we will start the SYP for senior high school. For the Grades 11 scholars, for sure, you will enjoy your academic experiences”, Dr. Romo expressed.

Grade 7 scholar, Rei Benedick Mallillin, in his message of expectation mentioned how privileged and lucky they were to be Pisay scholars.

“Mas marami yatang expectations sina nanay at tatay kaysa sa amin”, he added in his speech.

Teachers and staff were also introduced by the Division Chiefs and Department Heads.

Meanwhile, discussion about scholarship agreement, academic matters, guidance services, dormitory rules and other concerns were discussed by selected personnel to the Grade 7 scholars and their parents in the Orientation Program.

An orientation for Grade 11 scholars was also conducted focusing on the Specialization Year Program (SYP) was facilitated by the Curriculum and Instruction Services Division, headed by Dr. Aimee Marie C. Gragasin.#
