Capitalizing on a strong average and difficult rounds of the fifth edition of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus – Quiz Show, Philippine Yuh Chiau School of Cabatuan, Isabela, copped the title.

The trio of Joaquin Adrien Ong, Jim Allyson Nevado and Precious Nevado scored 83 aggregate score highlighted by a lone mistake in the Difficult round. The Average and Difficult rounds were pivotal for the champions as they flexed their will past the other contestants.

The winning triumvirate of Ong and Nevado siblings were the only one to hurdle the 20-point-marker in the Average Round and managed to sustain their momentum in the payoff round.

The Difficult Round is a show of pure brilliance as the champions committed a lone mistake in 10 questions, and padded the cushion toward the finish line.

Coach Marietess Cafirma’s ward scored 14, 24 and 45, respectively in three rounds to run away from the second placer, University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, scoring 61 points.

Team USLT composed of Zio Vela, Maria Dominique Beltran and Juan Carlos Pajarillo, was a one of the two wildcard contenders from the Division Eliminations held last September 24 at various testing centers.

Trailing at third place was Tuguegarao West Central School which comprised Chanelle Louize Mabborang, Lloyd Asley Sibbaluca and Corvin Rhys Casa piling 59 points.

Tuguegarao East Central School and Cauayan City School of Excellence, Inc. were the fourth and fifth placers, respectively.

The Quiz Show is a yearly endeavor of PSHS-CVC as an outreach activity for the National Competitive Examination applicants.#
