Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus kicked off school year 2022-2023 as it reopened its in-person classes last August 31, 2022.

An Opening Program, dubbed “The Big Comeback”, was held on August 31, 2022 at the school gymnasium to officially welcome the students and employees.

In his Welcome Message, Mr. Erick John H. Marmol, the campus director, expressed his delight that students are back for the in-person classes.

He assured that PSHS-CVC will continue to provide quality education to its students, manifested by the campus’ readiness to hold classes on face-to-face setup, the competence of its teaching and non- teaching personnel, and the upgraded facilities in the campus.

He also conveyed his gratitude to his predecessor, Dr. Salvador B. Romo, for his efforts in paving Pisay- CVC’s growth and development to what it is today.

During the morning part of the program, the employees were introduced by the division chiefs – Mr. Raymundo C. Manaligod for the Finance and Administrative Division, Dr. Harold V. Gallo for the Student Services Division, and Mr. Garry Jun M. Mayawin for the Curriculum and Instruction Division.

In preparation for the conduct of the in-person classes, the course offerings, student assessment, grading system, PPTG guidelines, Code of Conduct, were also discussed after the opening program.

“The re-opening of face-to-face classes is the much-awaited scene in the academe. As a CID Chief, I think this would mean making moves and plans to recalibrate some of the division's guidelines and the teachers' pedagogical practices- all these, of course, to aid the students ease in smoothly during the transition,” quipped Mr. Mayawin, the CID Chief.

Rya Jasmin Donelo, Grade 12 student and the current SSG president said, “Although I have worries about the safeness since COVID-19 is still present, I am extremely eager to go back to the campus to learn in the classroom having to interact with my classmates and my teachers. Finally, after two years, returning to in-person classes ignited my passion more and gave me enthusiasm and excitement to acquire knowledge that I will use in the future.”

Homeroom orientation and emergency drills practice were held in the afternoon.
