In its quest for continous improvement and excellence, the Philippine Science High School System is on track of getting ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Campus Directors, Academic Chiefs, Support Services Chiefs and other support staff gathered in a Quality Management System (QMS) seminar-Workshop to equip themselves on the process of application and how to standardize the processes of the PSHS System, October 4-8, 2016 at 24/7 Resort Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

"Quality management is a team effort and each unit in an organization must know its function to contribute to overall quality", said Mr. Dexter Chua, resource speaker from CQL Business Systems Consulting.

Chua enlightened the participants about the nature of continous improvement and explained the different requirements needed to fulfill ISO certification

Chua also guided the participants in making SWOT analyses and identifying the procedures of the internal processes by the various units of the different campuses in adherence to the international standard of quality certification.

"There should be a coordinated activities to direct and control an organization's track for continuous improvement", he added.

The participants were grouped according to specialization; the campus directors created the table of contents and the chiefs and other staff made the different procedures of internal processes.

The PSHS System targets to apply for certification within the year and each campus will choose specific areas for application.

Dr. Larry Cabatic, Executive Director of PSHSS mentioned during the plenary session that the challenges for Pisay are getting bigger as it also targets to help other science high schools in the country.

The QMS seminar-workshop was hosted by PSHS-Cagayan Valley Campus led by Dr. Salvador B. Romo, campus director.#
