Grade 10 triumvirate Christlen Carlo Olivares, Rench Emmanuel Consumido, Jose Benjamin Dela Cruz secured a spot in the national finals of the Philippine Society of Youth Science Club – Philippine Science Olympiad (PSYSC-PSO) after bagging the title in a quiz bee held at Isabela National High School, Ilagan, Isabela, Sept. 3, 2016.

Consumido scored the highest individual points of the competition.

The quiz bee, which aimed to choose the national qualifiers, was held simultaneously in sixteen (16) testing sites nationwide.

The victory qualified Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus’ team to the top 20 qualifiers to the PSO National Finals Bracket II slated on Sept. 24, 2016 at the University of the Philippines- Diliman Campus, Quezon City.

The Science Olympiad is one of the featured events of the National Science Club Month (NSCM) every September.

The inter-school competition includes elementary and high school students, who are members of science clubs affiliated with PSYSC, across the country.

Five hundred seventy-three (573) students for both elementary and junior high school participated in the simultaneous national eliminations in 16 testing sites nationwide.

The PSYSC, Inc organized the activity which was enthemed, “AGGRINNOVATE: Revolutionizing Agricultural Outlook for Sustainable Growth”.#
