The Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) is a nationwide organization devoted in upholding the significance of science clubbing and in promoting Public Understanding of Science, Technology and Environment (PUSTE). PSYSC, as the frontrunner of the science clubbing movement, continues to celebrate the National Science Club Month (NSCM) every September to science clubs all over the country with activities that would enhance not just the academic perspective of each science clubber but their environmental and social awareness as well. For this year, NSCM 2017 has the topic of Geoscience with the theme: EarthBeat: Excavating the Abyss, Pulsing the Current, Steering the Youth as Stewards of Sustainable Development. The activities involved were the National Science Clubs Summit, PSO National Eliminations, I Teach Science Seminar (ITSS), and MathSciAKa.

Last September 9, 2017, three Grade 10 students namely Angela Joy G. Agcaoili (Graviton), Alexandrea C. Sion (Muon) and Lord Peter Robin Dustin L. Suyat (Muon) competed in the PSO National Eliminations, an inter–school quiz competition for students from all over the country. The National Eliminations was a two–hour written multiple choice examination taken individually. The accumulated scores were ranked and the top 20 teams with the highest scores in all the testing sites nationwide will be the official participants to the National Finals. The Philippine Science High School team garnered First Place in the National Eliminations for Region 2 but did not qualify for the National Finals. Alexandrea C. Sion was also awarded for being the Top Scorer in the Region.
