The Grade 7 students of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus (PSHS–CVC) participated in the Health and Wellness Program through an innovative lecture–discussion via Zoom on October 15, 2021.

The said event was graced by Ms. Leycel F. Marzan, Clinical Coordinator of the School of Health Sciences of Saint Mary’s University, who shared her expertise in the topic Healthy in Mind and Body amidst the Pandemic.

According to Ms. Joy Lyzette R. Carreon, the school nurse of PSHS-CVC, the program aims to make the students more aware and observant about the factors that affect them in achieving a healthy mind and body, to be more conscious about their mental and physical well-being, and to be more mindful about healthy practices.

"Parallel health and wellness programs will also be conducted for the Grades 8–12 students. We believe that this kind of activity can, in one way or another, help our students in coping with the challenges of online learning and in maintaining their physical and mental health during this time of pandemic," confirmed Ms. Carreon when asked about the other programs related to the health and wellness of students.

The Health and Wellness Program was initiated by the Health Services Unit, the Boys Residence Hall and the Girls Residence Hall under the Student Services Division of PSHS–CVC.
