Two hundred sixteen students of Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus were given recognition during the Third Quarter Virtual Card-Giving Day on April 27, 2021.

These students were awarded for qualifying in the Director’s List (DL), a recognition given to students who obtained a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 1.00 to 1.50 for the quarter.

For this quarter, there are 31 DLs in the Grade 7 level, 20 in Grade 8, 25 in Grade 9, 20 in Grade 10, 54 in Grade 11 and 66 in Grade 12.

Following the recognition of DLs was the Kumustahan session of the advisers and teachers with the parents, tackling the current situation of the students at home and how they are performing in their academic tasks.

Mr. Erick John Marmol, the new campus director of PSHS-CVC, expressed his views about how the pandemic changed the educational landscape of Philippine Science High School.

He acknowledged the collaboration of the employees, parents and scholars as an important factor in overcoming the difficulties posed by the global health concern.

“Keep on looking for the light at the end of the tunnel,” the newly appointed campus director emphasized. He concluded that this is the opportunity to keep on learning and help shape the future of science and technology.

Ms. Rosalinda O. Luwang, the Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID), stated in her message, “Way to go! You have come this far. The finish line for this quarter is within your reach. Continue to strive harder and to be diligent in your studies.”

The quarterly card giving day is also conducted to provide an avenue for the parents and teachers to discuss the academic performance and other relevant concerns of the students.#
