Dr. Jane D. Navalta stressed that “test is an opportunity for students to learn”, during the seminar-workshop on Test Construction and Test Measurements for faculty and staff of the school, July 28. 2016.

Dr. Navalta through her interactive lectures and activities emphasized the affective domains of teaching and value of openness to accept feedback.

“Tests should not be used for punishment, as a time killer and as a filler for unprepared class time of a teacher”, she added.

Employing varied individual and group activities, the resource speaker engaged the teachers to revisit assessment and evaluation of the academic performances of students.

The teachers were grouped according to specialization in performing the activities and special prizes were awarded to selected participants at the end of the activities.

Physics teacher Sheryl Agapito said in the last activity that “walang learner na di natututo, baka may piangdadaanan lang”.

The activity punctuated with the teachers reciting a “Teacher’s Pledge”.
