ACING THE AMC. These PSHS–CVC scholars earn the fruits of their labor as they show their Certificate of Distinction from the Australian Mathematics Competition. Six students of Philippine Science High School–Cagayan Valley Campus were conferred the third highest award in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC). In the exam which was given last July 2017, the results which was released last January 2017 revealed that six of the scholars were awarded Distinction Award.

Edrian Paul Liao (8–Rosal), Joanne Micaela Dizo (8–Rosal), John Mikylle Decena (9–Fermium), Christlen Carlo Olivares (10–Muon), Jose Benjamin dela Cruz (10–Graviton ) and Christian Marthus Gombio (10–Muon ) garnered scores that belonged to the top 13% of all the students who took the test.

Moreover, 22 students whose scores belonged to the top 50% were awarded Certificate of Credit. Eleven of them came from Grade 8, four from Grade 9, and seven for Grade 10 successfully qualified in this level.

The exam was composed of 30 problems which they solved within seventy-five minutes and was conducted simultaneously in over 30 countries worldwide.

Since 2008, PSHS–CVC has been joining the AMC and through the years, the students were consistent in giving their best and in earning recognition for the school.
